project

Ongoing project for me is to teach and tell about art and photography. I work at University of Arts in Utrecht and also give presentations, talks and performances about my own art.

With a couple of creative friends we started Museum voor KOR in 2013. The first idea was to make an app for art in public space. We presented this idea at the Future Festival in July 2014. On the first picture you can see our museum attendant; when leaving the festival tent, one would enter the museum. Then we started to make exhibitions with all sort of forms, like guided and audio tours. We officially opened the museum in May 2015 (2nd and 3rd picture).

Together with three other artists we created and organized First Art in 2014. Ten first art kits are traveling the world to find out about the necessity of art.

I collect secondhand camera’s with a roll of negatives still left in them, and publish all the images without making a selection. I started the project Last Photos in 2007 and it’s still ongoing.

For housing corporation Woonzorg Nederland I explored their complete photo archive (2010). I made a selection of pictures of the Dutch traditional festive ceremony to hit the first pile into the ground of a new building, and also a selection of undefined and fascinating images.

In 2004 I locked myself for a year in the garage of my parents. During the day I wanted to make an image at the place where at night my fathers car was standing. The image had to be so great, that you wouldn’t see all stuff around it.

In 2002 I photographed for a year the exact opposite of what I wanted to photograph. This resulted in the publication Pocket Camera held reversed (2004).

For Arai Helmet Europe I designed and produced the Arai Safety Award, a yearly returning commission from 2000 until 2006.
